I suppose I should make an introduction first! I'm Ally. A Utah-raised girl now raising my kiddos in Northern Colorado. I have two cute girls, ages 2 1/2 and six months. They truly are my sunshine, and bring a bright light to each day. When the girls are asleep, my husband and I like to make improvements to our house, bought as a foreclosure. I especially love sewing and refinishing furniture. I, along with my mother Michelle, and sister Brianna, will be posting EACH DAY for the 2013 year. (Hopefully they can introduce themselves soon.)
This blog is part of a goal I have for the new year. I, like most mothers, am pulled in a hundred different directions every day. I have to choose who and what I give my time to, and my attitude while giving my time. When I lie in bed at night, thinking about the day, the things I regret doing, or not doing, involve the people I love. I regret impatiently yelling at my daughter, or not letting her help make dinner because I didn't want to clean up the mess, or getting after my husband for not taking out the garbage. I will never be perfect, but I can do better.
I've been pondering President Thomas S. Monson's words-- "So frequently we mistakenly believe that our children need more things, when in reality their silent pleadings are simply for more of our time." Over the course of the year, this blog will feature 365 ways to give our time to create joyful, memorable moments that will be looked back on with fondness.
We'll divide the ideas into seven categories-- one for each day of the week. We'll have Mealtime Mondays, Talent Tuesdays, Work Wenesdays, Thinking Thursdays, Fun Fridays, Special Saturdays, and Sacred Sundays. I will try EVERY idea, and will do better at giving my time and love to my family.
